When it comes to skincare, the first step in preserving your skin is sunscreen against harmful UV rays and free radicals.

With the endless amount of sunscreen options on the shelf, it can be very difficult and time-consuming until you can find the one that works for you.

Here’s where we come in, we have tried almost every single sunscreen you can find on the shelf of a Target, Walmart, or CVS.

We understand that not everyone can afford the high-end price tag for some of these luxury sunscreens. However, these 8 different sunscreens for all skin types are almost identical in texture, finish, and even ingredients compared to the high-end sunscreens!

If you are just desperate and looking for any sunscreen that won’t cause a white cast, look no further! We have all the answers you need!

1: Sun Bum Mineral - SPF 50

Sun Bum has mastered the art of producing sunscreen for all skin types. Whether you choose a mineral or chemical sunscreen they always seem to feel nice on your face.

Not too heavy and not too lightweight where you are unsure of what you just put on your face. This sunscreen contains zinc oxide and titanium dioxide which will physically block the UV rays rather than absorbing them.

Another reason why the Sun Bum mineral sunscreen is a great option for all skin types is because it is free from irritants like parabens, sulfates, and fragrances which is beneficial for anyone with sensitive skin.

Even though it leans a bit more on the creamy side, it dries in such a lightweight and non-greasy way that makes it possible for anyone with combination to oily skin types.

2: Eucerin Advanced Hydration Sunscreen Spray - SPF 50

If you are tired of spreading sunscreen with your fingers, here is an option for all you spray sunscreen lovers!

Eucerins Advanced Hydrating Spray sunscreen contains glycerin which helps keep your skin feeling moisturized, so skip putting on any creams before using this sunscreen.

Another reason why we think this is a great sunscreen for all skin types is because it delivers a lightweight layer of sunscreen and layering it throughout the day won’t cake up and cause any greasy, sticky feeling.

3: La Roche Posay Dry Touch Sunscreen for Acne Prone Skin - SPF 60

If you are someone who has acne-prone skin, it does not help if you use a heavy sunscreen that is greedy and pore-clogging. You want to protect your skin, not make it worse to begin with!

La Roche Posay came up with a sunscreen that deposits enough sunscreen in a lightweight and gives you a matte finish almost minimizing the appearance of pores once the product dries.

The reason why it does not make you break out is because of its antioxidant properties such as Tocopherol and it also contains Cassia Alata Leaf Extract which is antimicrobial/antibacterial so they’ve got you over on all fronts!

4: EltaMD UV Clear Broad-Spectrum SPF 46

EltaMD is a superstar sunscreen in our books and one of our favorites for being such a diverse sunscreen for all skin types. It contains so many great ingredients that it should be a sin to not go and pick this up at your local Target today!

However, we want to be honest here and say that we have seen a few of our beautiful, darker skinned girls out there who experience a bit of a white cast.

Although some of our melanin-blessed girlys have not experienced this with the EltaMD UV Clear sunscreen. Since this sunscreen is a bit on the higher end of the drug store price tag, we recommend trying one of the others listed above or below.

Now if you’re an avid lover of the EltaMD line and want to give it a try, you’re in luck! This sunscreen contains niacinamide and lactic acid which is the second most researched AHA after glycolic acid. This sunscreen also contains Sodium Hyaluronate.

Sodium Hyaluronate is basically like the cousin of hyaluronic acid. Overall to say that this sunscreen contains a bunch of great ingredients to help you put your best face forward so don’t knock it till you try it!

5: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Lotion SPF 50

Neutrogena had some hits and some misses when it comes to their products although their hydro boost line has thankfully been a hit with practically all dry, oily, and combination-skinned people!

It contains great hydrating ingredients even though it is a gel-based sunscreen providing 50 SPF!! As we already know, gel-based sunscreens have a hard time blocking and providing enough coverage but this particular Neutrogena hydro boost gel sunscreen did something right when they created this!

6: Vanicream Facial Moisturizer SPF 30

This is a moisturizer and an SPF all in one to help you save time in the morning but also keeping you protected until its time to reapply!

Vannicream is one of the fan favorites for the ingredients they always seem to include in all of their products. This product contains 5 different kinds of ceramides, ceramides are naturally occurring in our skin and they are the waxy lipids that can be found naturally in the outer layer of our skin.

Ceramides help our skin by keeping our skin barrier hydrated and healthy so while you’re protecting your skin in the scorching heat, it is also staying hydrated on the inside!

7: Black Girl Sunscreen Make It Matte Sunscreen - SPF 45

We love supporting a black-owned business and for good reason! They are killing it with this sunscreen and you can use this sunscreen for all skin types!

It provides great coverage but delivers a sheer and silky feeling without any pilling! The only thing that makes me pull back my hand from grabbing this sunscreen is that it contains some icky ingredients and perfumes.

We’re still listing this because many people have had great luck with it and it’s still worth a try!

8: La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Sunscreen Fluid Spf 60

Last but not least we have another awesome sunscreen for all skin types, La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra-Light Sunscreen Fluid.

It has great ingredients, coverage, and non greasy feel but it has a higher-than-normal price tag for a drugstore sunscreen. To start with, it contains denatured alcohol which in the skin care community that is a highly debated ingredient.

It contains alcohol so it helps make sure this product doesn’t feel too sticky and yucky which is why the creators added this ingredient in and it has an antibacterial effect which is why many people love it.

However, it also contains Tocopherol, as mentioned before it is an antioxidant that helps combat collagen-damaging free radicals which has an anti-aging effect.
